2nd Dec 4.30 pm Advent Carol Service.      Come and join us for a candlelit service of readings, prayers and carols for Advent as we begin our preparations and countdown to Christmas.

St. John’s Fantastic Christmas Tree Festival.  8th, 9th, 10th Dec. All systems go as this weekend is our Christmas Tree Festival.... we’re raising funds for Homestart, a local charity supporting families. Come along and see the 50+ trees and enjoy a cup of tea and homemade cake. The church will be open 10-4 on Sat 8th, 12-4 on Sun 9th and 10-2 on Monday 10th. We look forward to seeing you. If you find one of our trees somewhere in the parish, bring it with you to receive a gingerbread treat!

Christmas Tree Festival Concert on Saturday, 8th Dec at 7.30 pm.  The Deventio Choir will provide us with Christmas music and audience carols with time during the interval to admire the decorated trees with their sparkling lights whilst enjoying a glass of wine or juice included in the price of just £6!  Proceeds will go towards Homestart. Please come and support us and them.  We need you!

Sat 15th Dec 7.30pm. “Christmas Brass & Voices.” The Derby Bach Choir and Deventio Brass provide an evening of carols, festive music, mulled wine and mince pies included in the admission price of £12, students £5.

Mon 17th Dec  7.30 pm. ‘Christmas with the Sitwells’ - A warming mix of festive favourites. Admission £10 (under 16s free)

Wed 19th Dec 12.00 noon. Lunchtime Carols – an opportunity to join others in singing your chosen favourite carols in an informal setting.  Hot drinks and mince pies served before and after the Carol Service which begins at 12.30pm.  If you are at work why not bring your lunch with you!!

24th Dec Christmas Eve 6.30pm Candlelight Festival of Carols – traditional candlelit Carol Service where favourite carols are interspersed with the telling of the Christmas Story.  Come and experience the wonderful atmosphere as we celebrate the mystery of Christ, the Saviour, born amongst us.

Christmas Day 10.00 am. Family Servicea service which includes the Blessing of the Crib and the Christmas celebration of Holy Communion with readings and favourite carols.  Children and families are especially welcome.

Sun 6th January 3 – 4.30 pm. Messy Church - Family Fun for all ages making Christingles.

Come and enjoy an hour or so of family fun making these Christingles, followed by a procession by candlelight and a fabulous tea party.
