1st Dec 4.30 pm Advent Carol Service. Come and join us for a candlelit service of readings, prayers and carols for Advent as we begin our preparations and countdown to Christmas.
St. John’s Fantastic Christmas Tree Festival. 7th, 8th and 10th December. All systems go as once again we hold our wonderful Christmas Tree Festival.... we’re raising funds this year for Me and Dee, a local charity that supports families with terminally ill children. Come along and see the 50+ trees, enjoy some tea and homemade cake. The church will be open 10-
Christmas Tree Festival Concert on Saturday, 7th Dec at 7.30 pm. The Deventio Choir will provide us with Christmas music and audience carols with time during the interval to admire the decorated trees with their sparkling lights whilst enjoying a glass of wine or juice included in the price of just £6! Proceeds will go towards to the Me and Dee Charity. Please come and support us and them. We need you!
Mon 16th Dec 7.30 pm. ‘Christmas with the Sitwells’ – with Tom Corfield on the organ and a warming mix of festive favourites and some rousing audience participation. Adm. £12 (under 16s free)
Wed 18th Dec from 12.00noon to 1.30pm. Lunchtime Carols – an opportunity to join others in singing your favourite carols chosen by you, in an informal setting. Hot drinks and mince pies served before and after the Carol Service which begins at 12.30pm. Come and go as you need and if you are at work why not bring your lunch with you!!
Sat 21st Dec Derby Concert Band Concert 7.30pm Come and join us for an evening of wonderful music for the festive season.
24th Dec Christmas Eve 6.30pm Candlelight Festival of Carols – traditional candlelit Carol Service where favourite carols are interspersed with the telling of the Christmas Story. Come and experience the wonderful atmosphere as we celebrate the mystery of Jesus, the Saviour, born amongst us – as one of us.
Christmas Day 10.00 am Family Service – a service which includes the Blessing of the Crib and the Christmas celebration of Holy Communion with readings and favourite carols. Children and families are especially welcome.

Come and enjoy an hour or so of family fun making these Christingles, followed by a procession by candlelight and a fabulous tea party.
